Mayor Keith Pekau extended the gratitude of the entire community and proclaimed Monday, March 21, 2022 as Kendall Coyne Schofield Day in the Village of Orland Park.
ISP Director Brendan F. Kelly provided an update on placement of license plate cameras along nearby interstates to catch criminals involved in shootings. There also was discussion of efforts by local task forces on major crimes and carjacking, support needed for local police and anti-violence programs, and discussion about enforcement, funding and potential legislative solutions in Springfield.

The flooding on 135th Street will be addressed with a major construction project. In addition to resurfacing the road, 135th Street will be widened, the ditches will be removed and curbs and stormwater sewers will be installed.
Residents who purchase flood insurance for structures located in the Village’s designated floodplain areas are currently eligible to receive a 20% discount on their flood insurance premiums under the Village’s Class 6 Rating. Structures located outside of the floodplain receive a 10% discount on premiums.
