Shelby County – Appellate Court Briefs filed (Shelby Co.) - The Shelby County Board illegally hired a private attorney back in 2014 and continued paying for those services for years.  When the County Treasurer could not get an answer to the legality of paying for those legal bills she refused to pay them.  That action leads to two lawsuits.  One by the illegally hired attorney, Ed Flynn, and the other by a newly elected County Board member Mark Bennett.

After watching the excellent and truthful video of South Carolina's first Black Lieutenant Governor talking about a racist cartoon depicting the state's first Black Lt. Gov. and a Female Native American as KKK members, I reflected back to recent flyers and posts directed at DuPage Township Candidates.

Owner of a New Southland Restaurant Receives Award (Country Club Hills, IL) - The owner of a Country Club Hills, IL restaurant received the Entrepreneur of the Year Award last week.

According to a sworn declaration in the Federal court case involving the College of DuPage and its former president, Dr. Robert Breuder, former College of DuPage Trustee Dianne McGuire has leaked privileged information to Cory Atkinson, also a former COD trustee and attorney for Dr. Breuder. Additional records in the court docket between the COD attorney and Atkinson's attorney confirm Atkinson has an engagement letter with Dr. Breuder.

Village of Dolton Mayor Riley H. Rogers is up for re-election. Rogers suffered a stroke just before the first day of early voting, February 8. Rogers, while in recovery, issued the following statement to keep the community informed about his health status and plans to continue his duties as an elected official and push for re-election.

A grand jury today indicted former Illinois State Senator Sam McCann on charges of fraud, money laundering, and tax evasion related to his alleged misuse of campaign money for personal expenses.
