DuPage County Sheriff’s Office appoints New School Resource Corporal to enhance School Safety and Community Relations (DuPage County, IL) – Sheriff James Mendrick and Undersheriff Edmond Moore announced the appointment Corporal Scott Mrkvicka as Multi-School Community Resource Officer. The initiative is part of our ongoing commitment to enhancing safety and fostering positive relationships within our school communities.
The Multi-School Community Resource Officer will serve as a vital resource across multiple schools in our district and will be engaged in a variety of activities with our community. This aligns with our mission to protect and serve, ensuring that our students feel safe and supported while pursuing their education.
Corporal Mrkvicka’s daily task will include School Safety, Educational Outreach, Crime Prevention, Crisis Intervention and Building Relationships within the school and community. His goal is to create a positive presence in the school and to work with educators, students and parents to ensure a safer more resilient school community for our children.
The safety of our students and staff is our top priority. By placing a dedicated officer in our schools, we are creating a safer environment where our children can thrive and feel comfortable.” stated Sheriff Mendrick. “This program not only enhances safety, but also bridges the gap between law enforcement and the community.” Undersheriff Moore continued.
The introduction of the Multi-School Community Resource Officer is part of an expanded effort by the DuPage County Sheriff’s Office to engage and support our youth.
