Lindop 92: Broadview Residents to Get $391,530 in Property Tax Relief (Broadview, IL) – At its regular monthly meeting this week, the Lindop School District 92 Board of Education approved $391,530 in property tax relief for Broadview homeowners and businesses.

Lindop 92 is one of only 35 of Illinois school districts to be awarded a Property Tax Relief Grant from the Illinois State Board of Education. The grant program is part of the Evidence-Based Funding for Student Success Act. The state will replace Lindop’s property tax revenue returned to taxpayers with a direct $282,900 cash grant.

“The Board of Education is thrilled to provide Broadview’s property taxpayers with $391,530 in property tax relief,” said Board President Aaron Hannah. “By receiving a direct, fixed cash grant, the state relieves the district’s budget uncertainties because each year we are unable to collect all property tax money owed to the district from economically distressed properties.”

The districts that are eligible for the state grant are those that have the highest tax rates within their elementary, high school, or unit district out of all those that applied, according to Acting Superintendent Dr. Emily Betz.

“We take advantage of every opportunity to strengthen Lindop 92 finances and to save property taxpayers money,” said Dr. Betz. “Additionally, this state program increases funding equity and adequacy for school districts like Lindop 92.”

Statewide, the Illinois State Board of Education is providing $49.8 million in grants to school districts in 2025 that will result in $53.6 million in property tax relief for Illinois residents

“The Board of Education extends its gratitude to Governor JB Pritzker and Illinois state lawmakers, like House Speaker Emanuel “Chris” Welch and Senate Majority Leader Kimberly Lightford, for their commitment to increasing funding equity and adequacy for schools like Lindop 92, but also for their commitment to lowering property taxes for Broadview residents,” said Hannah.
