"If any Person . . . will give a true Account of Mrs. Silence Dogood, whether Dead or alive, Married or unmarried, in Town or Country, . . . they shall have Thanks for their Pains."

Orland Park Mayoral Forum to Take Place and Be Livestreamed from Orland Park Library on March 7th (Orland Park, IL) – An in-person Mayoral Forum will be on Friday, March 7th, at 8:30am at the Orland Park Library. Mayor Keith Pekau is confirmed to participate and Jim Dodge is invited as well.

The Format:

  • 2 guests from the audience, a supporter from each candidate, will read questions and time the responses of Pekau and Dodge.
  • Questions will be submitted from members of the audience and drawn from a hat.
  • The candidates will have 5 minutes for opening and closing statements, and 3 minutes to respond to each question.
  • The opening statement order will be chosen by the flip of a coin and alternate for each question. The closing statement will be in the opposite order of the opening statement.
  • In fairness to Mayor Pekau, Mr. Dodge, and those viewing via livestream, audience members are required to remain silent throughout the forum.

“Ahead of the election, Orland Park residents deserve the opportunity to hear from both candidates and I am committed to answering their questions in a thoughtful forum,” Mayor Pekau said. “I strongly hope Jim Dodge participates in this forum. With the audience being allowed to submit questions and a supporter from both campaigns being the ones who read the questions, I believe this is not only fair but something we owe our voters.”

The Mayoral Forum will be livestreamed to YouTube and a link will be provided to the media ahead of the forum.

Pekau added, “It is important to livestream the event for full transparency and to ensure that residents can view unedited responses. I welcome Jim Dodge to bring his own videographer and livestream the event as well.”

Pekau was born and raised in Orland Park, which is where he currently lives with his wife, Betty.
