Patrick Sheehan Concedes to Sen. Hastings (Lockport, IL) — Patrick Sheehan, Candidate to State Senate in the 19th District, issued the following statement conceding his election to Senator Michael Hastings.

“I want to thank my wide, my five kids, the rest of my family, and my friends for encouraging me to run and supporting me throughout the process.

“I was left for dead until I teamed up with the Big Tent Coalition — led by Representative Tim Ozinga. They ran my campaign, and I could no tbe more impressed with the talented team they out together. Their transparency and communication with me (considering I’m a first-time candidate, I know that doesn’t often happen) kept my spirits and effort consistent. I learned a lot about the people of this district because I walked every day and had honest, meaningful conversations at the door. Our team walked over 80,000 doors.

“Thank you to Mayor Michael Glotz of Tinley Park for his efforts to galvanize the community behind me throughout the campaign. I hope he can accomplish the sale of the Tinley Park Mental Health Facility this upcoming legislative session. Thank you to John Catanzara and Chicago FOP Lodge 7 for your help leading up to and on election day. Also, thanks to Dr. Cornel Darden for addressing and bringing forth the issues of the district’s east side.

“I promise we gave this race everything we had, bringing us within 600 votes of victory. I will remain active in the area and continue to choose Service Above Self.

“Cheers.”
