Press Release: Project HOOD Announces “72 Hours of Hope” National Campout for Change (Chicago, IL) — Project HOOD announced their launch of “72 Hours of Hope,” a nationwide campout from 8 a.m. on Thursday, November 21, to 8 a.m. on Sunday, November 24, inviting supporters from coast to coast to stand in solidarity with our mission to uplift and empower underserved communities. The event aims to raise $5 million to complete the Leadership and Economic Opportunity Center (LEOC), a transformative facility for job training, mental health support, and community resources in Chicago’s Woodlawn neighborhood.
Camp from Anywhere!
Participants are encouraged to camp wherever they are — whether it’s in their living rooms, backyards, or local parks — to support Project HOOD’s vision of community renewal. As part of this unique event, individuals can set up their own fundraising page through GiveLively to help spread the word and inspire others to give. Supporters can sign up and create their accounts at the following link: https://secure.givelively.org/
As Project HOOD’s Founder and CEO, Pastor Corey Brooks, shares, “Our mission at Project HOOD is to break cycles of poverty and violence by empowering individuals with resources and opportunities. The ‘72 Hours of Hope’ campout is a powerful way for people everywhere to come together in support of this mission. Whether you’re camping in a park or in your living room, every participant brings us closer to creating a brighter future for our community.”
Join Project HOOD in Making a Difference
Through their personal fundraising pages, each participant will have the opportunity to share stories, connect with friends and family, and spread awareness about Project HOOD’s work. Funds raised from this event will directly support the LEOC, which will provide essential services including job training, youth mentorship, entrepreneurship programs, and mental health resources.
