Rich Township High School District 227 Takes Part in 3rd Annual Investing In Our Future Scholarship Gala With UNCF February 21st (Richton Park, IL) – On February 21, 2025 Rich Township High School District 227 will take part in the 3rd Annual Investing in Our Future Scholarship Gala in partnership with the United Negro College Fund (UNCF) at the Tinley Park Convention Center from 6:00 – 11:00 p.m.
Last year eighty students received scholarships at the banquet as a result of the partnership of a group of Chicago area school superintendents and the United Negro College Fund with a scholarship gala that raised more than $400,000. The Superintendents’ Commission for the Study of Diversity and Demographics (SCSDD) in partnership with the United Negro College Fund worked on the project and Dr. Johnnie Thomas is president of the Superintendents’ Commission and Superintendent of Rich Township High School District 227.
As a result of this project, students will receive scholarships to help fund their post-secondary education at a school of their choice. The Superintendents’ Commission is composed of 37 elementary and secondary superintendents and school districts of the suburban Cook and collar counties dedicated to providing quality educational opportunities for all students.
