(South Holland, IL) — The Office of Continuing, Corporate and Community Education (C3) at South Suburban College (SSC) is seeking teachers to join the College for Kids teaching staff. This program will greatly enhance a child’s development this summer.

This program will begin on Tuesday, June 28, 2022 and conclude on Thursday, July 28, 2022. Classes will not be offered on Monday, July 4, 2022, as campus will be closed for the holiday.

Applicants must be 18 years of age or older and should be familiar with educating children in grades K-12. While teaching credentials are preferred, experience educating in a school setting is sufficient to apply for these paid positions. This program will explore reading, study skills, grammar and essays, math (including pre-algebra, algebra and geometry), foreign language (such as Spanish), and art.

“Teachers in the College for Kids program have a direct opportunity to positively impact the youth of our community through education,” said Gervaise Edwards, Manager of C3. “If teaching is your calling and the future is your concern, this opportunity is right for you. Teachers in this program influence, inspire and mentor our local children to have better, brighter futures.”

Call Gervaise Edwards at (708) 596-2000 ext. 5723 for more information or to apply to teach in this program. College for Kids will be offered on SSC’s Main Campus, located at 15800 South State Street, South Holland, Illinois.

About South Suburban College for Kids

Most of the classes require a minimum of four students, and some classes do have a maximum limit. All registration is on a “first come, first served” basis. We ask that students enroll at least one week prior to the start of class. By registering early we can avoid disappointments by having to cancel classes.

South Suburban College’s Continuing Education department is offering courses to help fill after-school and weekend time with activities that will entertain and challenge both children and young adults. College for Kids provides a fun learning environment for kids of all ages. Many of the classes offered have evening class times that will allow individuals to plan around a busy work or school schedule.

We now offer a College for High School Students that teach teenagers subjects in Foreign Language, Academic Enrichment, Arts, Computer Literacy and much more.

Children are not to walk around the campus or grounds independently. A parent or guardian must accompany them to and from their destination.
