State Rep. Adam Niemerg takes oath of office at Illinois State Capitol Building (Dieterich, IL) – State Representatives Adam Niemerg (R-Dieterich) took the oath of office at the Illinois State Capitol as a way of making a statement about the toll one-party rule is taking on the state.
“I made the decision to be sworn in at the Illinois State Capitol because the Capitol is both the cause of our state’s problems and simultaneously is a vital part of the solutions we need,” Niemerg said. “The Lame Duck session just ended and instead of taking the time to address sky-rocketing property taxes or the influx of illegal immigrants into our state, the Democrats in the House and the Senate not only ignored these problems but pushed through legislation to make them even worse. Taking the oath of office at the State Capitol is intended to highlight the need for better policies in Illinois.”
Niemerg said what Illinois citizens want is for their elected leaders to put their needs first and focus on the issues that matter most to them and their families.
“People are tired of the one-party rule that is running our state into the ground,” Niemerg said. “U-Haul just released their 2024 numbers on where people are moving. Illinois is the 45th least popular destination in the nation. It is time for the General Assembly to focus on solutions – not more political theater.”
Judge Mike McHaney administered the oath of office.
