Starting Thursday, July 28 and running through Sunday, July 31, Metra will provide extra trains, expand passenger capacity and adjust schedules on most lines to accommodate the increase in ridership anticipated during the festival.
"Though we are proud to have one of the best transit systems in the country, that reputation and everything we're doing to keep it will mean nothing if CTA customers don't feel safe taking public transportation," said Mayor Lightfoot.
The free rides are sponsored by Miller Lite and allow Chicagoans the opportunity to celebrate New Year’s Eve in a responsible and safe way.

Carter, Jr. “We want to remind everyone that all customers should celebrate safely and responsibly, including wearing masks when onboard the Allstate CTA Holiday Train and Bus.”
The Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) yesterday unveiled a one-of-a-kind, specially-designed train to honor the Chicago Sky, our hometown 2021 WNBA Champions.
