“During approximately 14-months as board president, Rayya Ghani shamefully abused her office throughout her tenure an internal investigation by the board’s outside general counsel found, an investigation which included a review of hundreds of documents, emails, texts and witness interviews,” said Dolton 149’s new Board President, Wilbur Tillman. “The evidence presented at the special board hearing was sufficiently disturbing that the board majority was forced to convicted Ghani on all six charges and to remove Ghani from the board, effective immediately.” #RayyaGhani

Tillman was in the hot seat last spring, when the board voted to remove him due to a policy violation where he obtained a vendor list from the school district then solicited them for campaign donations

“Dolton 149 wants to give parents the option and the convenience of having their children tested weekly, with their written authorization, at school,” said Dolton 149 Board President Rayya Ghani. “We know parents are both busy with work and concerned about the health of their children, so the district wants to offer a voluntary testing option to ease any concerns parents may have about their child’s health.”
