Tiffany Henyard Out as Mayor of Dolton, Loses Primary Election to Jason House (Dolton, IL) — Tiffany Henyard, the embattled mayor of Dolton, IL, has lost her bid for re-election after Trustee Jason House won the Democratic primary held today. Henyard, who has served a single term, was often at the center of controversy, facing allegations of financial and personnel mismanagement, violence, nonprofit fraud, and a federal investigation throughout her tenure.

Since November 2024, Henyard has been under scrutiny by a federal grand jury investigating potential criminal activity. In May 2024, a subpoena was served to Dolton Village Hall, demanding detailed records of Henyard’s payments, reimbursements, per diems, and credit card expenditures, dating back to the period just before the 2021 election.

Jason House, who emerged victorious in the primary, will now move forward to the April 1 Consolidated Election, where he will face independent candidate Casundra Hopson in the final race for mayor.

A separate investigation, led by former Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot, found that Henyard’s administration had mismanaged the village’s finances, citing excessive spending under her leadership. Additionally, the federal probe remains ongoing.

At the time of this writing, Jason House is beating Tiffany Henyard by a large margin:

Jason House: 87.91%
Tiffany Henyard: 12.09%

Henyard, who is also currently serving as Thornton Township Supervisor, is running as a write-in candidate for that election. She is facing Democratic candidate Napoleon Harris and Independent candidate Nate Fields.
