Cook County Board Approves Funding to Improve Transportation Throughout Cook County (Cook County, IL) — The Cook County Board of Commissioners approved funding today for transportation-related projects for the County’s Department of Transportation and Highways (DoTH). These vital projects boost economic development, build up regional transportation and improve the quality of life throughout Cook County.

Oak Forest | $1,063,377
Construction of 151st Street over the Boca Rio Drive ditch for a culvert replacement and channel enhancement project.
Countywide Pavement and Roadway Management System | $8,000,000
Countywide roadway-related data collection and asset management system to implement and update pavement, signs, guardrail, light poles and roadway shoulder assets among others.
Safe Travel for All Roadmap | $155,000
Cook County is partnering with the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP) to develop the Safe Travel for All Roadmap, which will create a first-of-its-kind traffic safety framework for northeastern Illinois.
