Mayor Tiffany Henyard of Dolton, Illinois has consistently come under fire with allegations of public corruption in both her role as Mayor of Dolton and Township Supervisor of Thornton Township. “Art, in general, has a role in people's lives in which it can provide healing,” Christopher Art Gallery Director Beth Shadur said. “It’s particularly poignant that this work comes from these experiences of war that are very difficult to articulate. You can articulate it verbally, but if you have another outlet, it can be very cathartic and a good outlet for someone to express themselves. The CreatiVets program gave them the tools to do that.”
