ISP Director Brendan F. Kelly provided an update on placement of license plate cameras along nearby interstates to catch criminals involved in shootings. There also was discussion of efforts by local task forces on major crimes and carjacking, support needed for local police and anti-violence programs, and discussion about enforcement, funding and potential legislative solutions in Springfield.

Throughout the pandemic, Jamie Kucera and The Y have stepped in to provide necessary resources for the community with limited financial means. The organization has partnered with Alivio Medical Center to administer nearly 10,000 COVID-19 vaccines. The YMCA has provided over 15,000 emergency food boxes to seniors to allow them to stay safely in their home and have sustainable food.
Investigators also recovered from the residence gun parts, including ghost gun parts, a drill press, molds, and other tools used to manufacture firearms.
The Cook County Gun Violence Prevention & Reduction Grants will fund a variety of violence prevention strategies including mental health and employment services, street outreach and case management as well as other services which support residents at-risk of being involved in community violence.
