Democratic Party politicians in Illinois have been using Madigan money to keep themselves in office for decades, money that we now know was extorted through businesses and Illinois tax payers.
"While he resigned as a Representative last year, he remains 13th Ward Committeeperson. I am calling for his resignation from this position as well," said President Preckwinkle.
“This indictment might be limited to Madigan and immediate cronies, but the stench and corruption extends to all who happily flew under Madigan’s wings, while knowing full well how all that power and money was generated” stated Chicago Republican Chairman Steve Boulton.

“I ran for Assessor as a progressive Democrat because I was tired of the corruption and favoritism of the Madigan political power structure, which this indictment says extended to his work in a law firm that specializes in property tax appeals. I believed there was a better way, and I’m delivering on that promise."
