The Cook County GOP in concert with the Chicago GOP slated over 30 Republican candidates for county offices, state representative and state senate.

The Cook County Republican Party expects a challenge of their newly filed candidates from Chicago Democrats who are well-known for the cottage industry they have developed in Cook County by aggressively challenging prospective opponent's petitions, in order to knock them off the ballot and sail right back into office.

“We expect this from Democrats, but it is appalling to see Republicans like Adam Kinzinger to play such a prominent part in these proceedings. He should be censured by the Illinois Republican party for his actions."
