Suicide is the third leading cause of death for young adults ages 15-34 in Illinois and fourth leading cause of death for those ages 35-44. Overall, suicide is the 11th leading cause of death in the state.
He is a cross-disciplinary leader in state and national health policy formulation, and his recent focus has been on improving health outcomes in Central and Southern Illinois.
This award is being presented to CPS for its leadership in establishing the Healthy CPS program, which aligns with the District's core value to serve the whole child so students are healthy, safe, engaged and academically challenged.
