The thirty-four grants were awarded to individual organizations and coalitions serving city neighborhoods and suburban municipalities that the ongoing gun violence epidemic has impacted most.

In fact, Pritzker and Raoul went so far as to attack those who questioned the handling of the Thornley Work Comp fraud case, which implicates the Governor’s office at the highest levels.
Of the businesses selected for licenses, 41% are majority Black-owned, 7% are majority White-owned, and 4% are majority Latino-owned, while 38% of awardees did not disclose the race of their owners
"There are countless communities across the state that have been touched by the opioid crisis. This funds from this settlement allow the agency's Division on Substance Use Prevention and Recovery to provide treatment for those struggling with opioid addiction," said Illinois Department of Human Services Secretary Grace B.
