Former Whitney Young Principal Joyce Kenner Endorsed Bob Fioretti For State’s Attorney (Cook County, IL) – Cook County State’s Attorney candidate Bob Fioretti closed out his long list of high profile endorsements with one of the most significant so far.
Fioretti, who as Alderman represented Whitney Young High School for eight years, said “I am so proud to have earned Joyce Kenner’s support. She and I worked hard to ensure students got a world class education. That’s where crime prevention starts.”
Kenner released the following statement:
“I’m Joyce Kenner, former Principal at Whitney Young High School. I join my former boss and mentor Reverend Jesse Jackson, Sr in endorsing my friend Bob Fioretti for Cook County State’s Attorney. Bob will be the first Republican I have ever voted for. When Bob was the Alderman representing Whitney Young, he did everything in his power to make sure we had all the resources we needed to remain one of America’s elite high schools. Bob will be tough on violent criminals, but I know that as the only civil rights lawyer to ever run for that office, he will ensure the civil rights of everyone who enters the criminal justice system are respected. That’s been Bob’s life work as an attorney. Bob understands that preventing crime involves more than making lots of arrests. It begins with getting kids a quality education so they can have jobs that pay a living wage. He understood that as Alderman and will as State’s Attorney too. Please join me and punch 55 for Bob Fioretti for State’s Attorney. Thank you.”
