Low Water Pressure Identified at Modern Estates in Dixmoor (Dixmoor, IL) — According to a news release, The Village of Dixmoor has reinstated its State of Emergency due to low water pressure. The issue was “identified in Modern Estates trailer park in Dixmoor and has issued a boil water order for the area affected by the low pressure.

“’The only area with low pressure is the trailer park at this point,’ said Dixmoor Village President Fitzgerald Roberts. ‘We have been in contact with the IEPA and others to find the problem and resolve it. The residents in Modern Estates are under a boil water order until further notice.’

“Roberts said the Village has checked the main lines delivering water to Modern Estates and no problems have been identified. He said the Village will continue to work with Modern Estates to help find the source of the problem.

“Food and water are available at Village Hall, located at 170 W 145th St. in Dixmoor. The number to reach Village Hall is 708-389-6121.”

This news comes after the Village of Dixmoor remained under a boil order with low water pressure, or no water at all, in October of last year and this past March. The city cited old water infrastructure as the issue. First-term Mayor Fitzgerald Roberts has secured  at least $2 million in funding to go toward the repairs. The total cost of repairs is estimated to cost around $20 million.
