Will County Voters to Receive New Voter Registration ID Cards by Mail (Joliet, IL) – Active registered voters across Will County will soon begin receiving new Voter Registration ID Cards in the mail as part of the county’s voter registration verification process, according to Will County Clerk Annette Parker.

The updated cards provide important voter information, including a voter’s township and precinct, designated polling place, and the various units of government for which they are eligible to vote.

The cards will arrive in an envelope from the Will County Clerk’s Office that also contains information about becoming a Will County election judge and details on the county’s Permanent Vote By Mail program.

Illinois law requires county election officials to verify voter registration records every two years. The mailing serves as one method for confirming that registered voters continue to reside at the address listed on their voter registration.

County officials are asking residents to help maintain accurate voter rolls. If a voter registration card is delivered to an address where the named voter no longer resides, recipients are encouraged to write “Not at this address” on the unopened envelope and return it through the U.S. Postal Service. No postage is required.

Returned mail allows the Clerk’s Office voter registration team to begin the process of confirming whether the voter has moved and to send a final address verification notice if necessary.

The next election scheduled in Will County is the Illinois Gubernatorial General Election on Nov. 3, 2026.

Residents seeking additional information about voter registration, election judge opportunities, or vote-by-mail options can visit willcountyclerk.gov or contact the Will County Clerk’s Office at voterregistration@willcounty.gov.
