The event will take place from noon to 5 p.m. in Parking Lot C at Prairie State College, 202 S. Halsted St. in Chicago Heights. The chapter is led by President Gwendolyn Buie.
This year’s fair is centered on the theme, “What’s Your Voter Plan?” and will focus on civic engagement, voter education and connecting residents with services and organizations serving communities throughout the Joliet area and Chicago Southland.
The event is being presented in partnership with Prairie State College, the Cook County Clerk’s Office and Live Free Illinois.
Attendees will have access to voter registration and education, Deputy Registrar Training and Election Judge recruitment. The fair will also feature information and resources addressing mental health, economic development, education, food assistance and restorative justice.
Organizers said the event is designed to make civic participation more accessible while connecting residents with resources that can support individuals and families.
In addition to informational and civic programming, the Community Social Action Fair will feature family-friendly activities and entertainment. Attractions will include food trucks, a game truck, bounce houses, bookbags and school supplies, giveaways, community vendors and live DJ entertainment.
The organizers are encouraging residents from across the Joliet area and Chicago Southland to attend, interact with community organizations and learn more about available services.
The chapter said the fair reflects its continued commitment to strengthening community partnerships, increasing awareness of essential resources and encouraging informed civic participation.
