Rep. Adam Niemerg Honored with the Illinois Electric Cooperatives 2025 Public Service Award (Dieterich, IL) – State Representative Adam Niemerg is the recipient of the 2025 Public Service Award from the Illinois Electric Cooperatives (IEC), based on his unwavering commitment to supporting rural communities and advancing energy initiatives throughout the state.
“I am deeply honored to receive this award from the Illinois Electric Cooperatives,” Niemerg said. “This recognition reflects not only my efforts but also the dedicated work of our local electric cooperatives and the vital role they play in providing reliable energy to our communities. I remain committed to advocating policies to ensure rural residents have access to the affordable energy they need and deserve.”
The IEC Public Service Award highlights individuals who have made significant contributions to the electric cooperative movement and have shown exceptional dedication to public service.
“I believe that everyone deserves access to reliable and affordable energy,” Niemerg said. “Rural residents depend on electric co-ops to power their lives. I am fighting every day in Springfield to reverse the bad policies that are leading directly to accessibility concerns and higher energy prices. I will continue to work tirelessly to ensure that our rural communities are not left behind.”
The award was presented during the IEC’s annual meeting, where leaders from across the state gathered to discuss the future of electric cooperatives in Illinois.
