Sheriff’s Police to Hold Traffic Safety Checkpoint in Leyden Township (Cook County, IL) – Cook County Sheriff’s Police, working with the Melrose Park Police Department, will conduct a roadside safety checkpoint in Leyden Township later this month, officials announced Tuesday.

The checkpoint will operate from 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 25, through 1 a.m. Friday, Sept. 26, near the intersection of Mannheim Road and Nevada Avenue.

Sheriff Thomas J. Dart said officers will be checking for valid driver’s licenses and vehicle registrations, ensuring compliance with Illinois’ seat belt and child safety restraint laws, and watching for impaired drivers.
