Palecek Wins Democratic Nomination in Illinois’ 13th House District (Chicago, IL) – Demi Palecek has won the Democratic primary for Illinois’ 13th House District, securing the party’s nomination for state representative in a race centered on grassroots organizing and economic issues.
Palecek declared victory Tuesday night, thanking volunteers and supporters while emphasizing a campaign message focused on working-class priorities and community engagement.
“Today, the people of the 13th District spoke loud and clear: it’s time to put the working class in the driver’s seat and reject corporate interests,” Palecek said. “We aren’t for sale.”
The campaign highlighted its reliance on volunteers and neighborhood-level outreach, including door-to-door canvassing and mutual aid efforts aimed at assisting residents in need.
Palecek said the campaign plans to continue those efforts in the months ahead, even as attention shifts toward the November general election.
“We will spend the coming months talking to our neighbors, organizing meetings, and listening to what they truly need,” Palecek said. “November’s election will come quickly, but relief can start right now.”
The 13th District includes parts of Chicago’s North Side, including Uptown. With the primary victory, Palecek now advances as the Democratic nominee in the race for the state House seat.
