Illinois Democrats Highlight High Momentum Ahead of November Election (Springfield, IL)- The Democratic Party of Illinois is highlighting its voter-organizing efforts as the November midterm elections approach, reporting more than 221,000 doors knocked and 283,000 direct voter contacts through its Organize Illinois 2026 campaign.
With fewer than 50 days remaining before Election Day, the party said its coordinated campaign is focused on voter registration, neighborhood canvassing, phone outreach and events supporting Democratic candidates across the state.
DPI Chair Lisa Hernandez said the campaign is concentrating on engaging voters and building support for Democratic candidates at every level of the ballot.
“Democratic candidates up and down the ba
llot are ready to answer Illinoisans’ call by lowering costs, protecting health care, and making life more affordable,” Hernandez said. “Since our launch in June, Organize Illinois has surpassed more than 221,000 doors knocked and made 283,000 direct voter contact calls.”
Hernandez said the campaign will continue its organizing efforts through Election Day, including registering voters and encouraging participation among Democratic supporters.
The party’s campaign comes as Illinois voters prepare to select candidates in races for statewide and federal offices, along with contests farther down the ballot. Democratic candidates highlighted by the party include Gov. JB Pritzker, lieutenant governor candidate Christian Mitchell and U.S. Senate candidate Juliana Stratton.
DPI said organizers and volunteers are conducting outreach throughout Illinois rather than limiting their efforts to major population centers. Activities include door-to-door canvassing, telephone calls, voter registration and community events.
The party also pointed to Democratic performance in special elections and other contests since President Donald Trump’s inauguration, saying Democrats have either won or exceeded expectations in nearly 90% of key elections and have averaged nearly 13 percentage points above prior expectations in special elections.
Those figures are presented by the Democratic Party of Illinois as part of its assessment of the national political environment. The party also criticized the Illinois Republican Party’s level of support for its statewide candidates.
With Election Day approaching, Organize Illinois 2026 is expected to continue its voter-contact and turnout efforts as campaigns across the state enter the final weeks of the election cycle.
