Hinsdale to Host Mobile DMV Event Offering Licenses, REAL IDs and Vehicle Registration (Hinsdale, IL)  — Residents looking to take care of driver’s license, REAL ID or vehicle registration needs without making a trip to a traditional Secretary of State facility will have an opportunity to do so during an upcoming Mobile DMV event in Hinsdale.

State Rep. Marti Deuter, D-Elmhurst, is partnering with state Sen. Suzy Glowiak Hilton and Illinois Secretary of State Alexi Giannoulias to bring mobile DMV services to the community on Friday, Oct. 16.

The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at The Community House, 415 W. 8th St. in Hinsdale.

Residents will be able to apply for a new driver’s license, renew an existing license or renew or obtain a REAL ID. Vehicle registration services will also be available.

The event will offer several other government services as well. Attendees can register to become organ and tissue donors and can also register to vote.

Deuter said bringing DMV services into local communities can make it easier for residents to complete routine government business, particularly for people preparing for upcoming travel.

“It’s not always easy to budget the time to go to your local DMV office,” Deuter said. “Events like this bring the services of a DMV right into the heart of our communities, giving people a great chance to handle items ahead of holiday travel.”

Appointments are required for the Hinsdale Mobile DMV event, and organizers said space is limited. Walk-in appointments will not be accepted.

Residents who want to attend must reserve an appointment through Deuter’s office by calling 630-413-1080.

People seeking a first-time identification card or REAL ID should review the Illinois Secretary of State’s list of acceptable documents before attending. The requirements are available online at www.ilsos.gov.

The Mobile DMV program is intended to provide residents with access to select Secretary of State services outside of a traditional DMV facility. The Hinsdale event is being coordinated by Deuter, Glowiak Hilton and Giannoulias as part of an effort to make those services more accessible to residents in the area.

Residents planning to attend are encouraged to schedule an appointment as soon as possible because organizers expect available slots to be limited.
