Candidate Forum Set for Illinois’ 2nd Congressional District Race (Chicago, IL)- Voters in Illinois’ 2nd Congressional District will have an opportunity to hear directly from candidates seeking federal office during a public candidate forum scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 5, 2026.
The forum will run from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Southland College Preparatory Charter High School, located at 4601 Sauk Trail in Richton Park. Organizers say the event will feature a moderated discussion followed by a question-and-answer session with the audience, focusing on issues affecting communities across the district.
The discussion will be moderated by Raleshia Brumfield, an Emmy Award–winning producer.
Candidates invited to participate include Ashley Banks, Yumeka Brown, Eric France, Patrick Keating and Willie Preston. Organizers also noted that Jesse Jackson Jr. and Donna Miller are strong prospective participants.
The forum is being presented by four local chapters of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated: the Chicago Alumnae Chapter, Joliet Area/South Suburban Alumnae Chapter, Glen Ellyn Area Alumnae Chapter and the Chicago Metropolitan Alumnae Chapter.
According to organizers, the event is the first in a series of voter education and civic engagement initiatives planned by the chapters throughout the 2026 election cycle. The effort aligns with Delta Sigma Theta’s longstanding focus on social action and voter empowerment by providing residents with direct access to candidates and information ahead of the election.
The forum is free and open to the public, and community members are encouraged to attend and participate.
