Congressional Candidate Donna Miller Receives Endorsement from Elect Democratic Women (Cook County, IL) – Cook County Commissioner Donna Miller, a Democratic candidate for Illinois’ 2nd Congressional District, has received the endorsement of Elect Democratic Women, a national political action committee focused on increasing the number of women serving in Congress.

Elect Democratic Women, known as EDW, is a member-led PAC made up of current members of Congress. The organization was founded with the support of former Illinois Congresswoman Cheri Bustos and current U.S. Reps. Joyce Beatty of Ohio and Lois Frankel of Florida.

In announcing the endorsement, Frankel, who serves as chair of Elect Democratic Women, praised Miller’s background in public service and health care advocacy.

“As a health care advocate, Donna has fought to expand access to quality care, advance health equity and deliver real results for working families,” Frankel said. “As a Cook County Commissioner, she’s been a solutions-oriented leader who brings people together to tackle tough challenges — from supporting veterans to strengthening community health systems.”

Frankel added that Miller has the experience and values needed to represent Chicago-area residents in Congress.

Miller said she was honored by the endorsement and said the group’s mission aligns with her own priorities.

“EDW’s mission to elect women who lead with integrity, compassion and a commitment to getting results reflects the values that have guided my career in public service,” Miller said. “From expanding access to health care to fighting for economic opportunity, I’ve always believed government should work for the people it serves.”

Miller, who currently serves on the Cook County Board, is seeking the Democratic nomination to represent the 2nd Congressional District. She noted that her family has lived in the district for nearly three decades.

Founded in 2018, Elect Democratic Women is the only member-led PAC dedicated exclusively to electing women to Congress. The organization has raised nearly $40 million and has supported more than 200 women candidates nationwide.
