Demolition Underway at 15222 Loomis Ave. – Progress Toward Rev. West’s Return Home (Harvey, IL) – The City of Harvey is pleased to share that demolition of the fire-damaged property at 15222 Loomis Avenue began this morning at 8:00 a.m. This marks a major milestone in helping longtime resident Rev. Alma West return to her home next door, which has been uninhabitable since January due to the fire.

The demolition, made possible by Mayor Christopher J. Clark’s personal financial contribution, is expected to take approximately two days, weather permitting.

This critical step clears the way for Rev. West’s approved contractor to begin long-awaited repairs to her home, which had been delayed due to the close proximity of the damaged neighboring structure.

Stay tuned for continued updates on this important community effort.
