Eric S. France Launches Candidacy for Illinois Second Congressional District (Lynwood, IL) Native Chicago resident and Businessman/Entrepreneur Eric France will officially launch his candidacy for the Illinois Second Congressional District seat on May 31, 2025. He is the first Democratic candidate to declare his bid for the seat.
France, who grew up on the south side of Chicago (Hyde Park/South Shore), is a resident of Lynwood, Illinois. He heads up The France Group, a management consulting firm founded by his father. France has organizational and political DNA running through his veins. He is the son of the late Chicago political powerhouse Dr. Erwin A. France, who served multiple Chicago Mayors and government, dating back to the 1960’s. Dr. France spent nearly 20 years as a public servant before entering into private enterprise.
“Long before there was an Olivia Pope, there was an Erwin France. He was the go-to guy. He was the guy you could always count on. If something needed to be fixed, you knew when you called Dr. France, then it would be handled.”
With that DNA lineage, the apple doesn’t fall too far from the tree. Mr. France believes the 2nd District needs improved representation that will be louder and better represent the concerns and needs of its people. He feels the people of our district have been hurting for far too long and are in need of a new kind of representation. The people are there, but their community potential is not being accelerated.
“We are suffering in every category. From lack of healthcare, to a lack of vocational and job training, no real or practical economic development, a lack of new affordable housing starts, in addition to not enough help for seniors with their housing and other needs. The list goes on! We are losing ground every day with no plan and no relief in sight.”
The France Candidacy is committed to changing the trajectory of the business climate in the district and his deep concern for the prosperity potential of this Illinois district, France wants to draw on his experience from both the public and private sector to improve the district, develop American business opportunities, fight for small business breaks and opportunities and grow the districts job potential.
With the current White House instability and the need for the Democratic party to have fighters on the front line, France asserts that difficulties must be faced with a loud and tall voice for the people, and alongside the people.
“We are already 10 steps behind from the neglect of the district over the years. Now, with the current situation in Washington, we stand to be wiped out altogether. We must stand up! We must be better and do better.”
