IL Freedom Caucus: Devaluing of Human Life Continues in Springfield (Springfield, IL) – The Illinois Freedom Caucus is calling on the Illinois Senate to stand for life and reject the extremist legislation pushed through at the last minute in the House to legalize physician assisted suicide.

This is a profound betrayal. Legalizing assisted suicide opens Pandora’s box. It tells our most vulnerable, the elderly, the disabled, those battling despair that their lives are expendable. It invites pressure, it invites abuse, and it is a slippery slope to the culture of death. Instead of offering death, we must offer true dignity. Our focus must be on compassion, and compassionate care that supports individuals and provides comfort and real hope – not just a needle. We must reject this policy.
