Jonanthan “JP” Patterson, Maxine Johnson, and Orrin Myrick were each sworn in for four-year terms following their successful election to the Board in April.

The Board also elected new officers. Jonathan JP Patterson was named Board President, Maxine Johnson was selected as Secretary, and veteran board member Brian Dawson was elected Vice President.

“It’s an honor to be chosen by my colleagues to serve as Board President,” said Patterson. “I’m grateful for their trust and excited to help lead our district forward. Together, we’re committed to building on the work of those who came before us and focusing on what matters most—our students.”

Superintendent Dr. Janiece Jackson expressed her confidence in the newly seated board.

“I’m looking forward to partnering with our new board members and continuing our work with returning members,” said Dr. Jackson. “This is an exciting time for Lindop. Our shared vision centers on delivering the highest quality education for every student, with a renewed focus on strengthening math and reading skills across all grade levels.”

The meeting also marked the retirement of three board members: Steven Taylor, Penny Williams Wolford, and Woodie Morris, Jr. Each was recognized for their dedication and years of service to the Lindop 92 and the community.

“We may have a new Board of Education, but our priorities are steadfast,” said Dr. Jackson. “Reviewing current academic performance data, supporting teachers to improve core instruction, and engaging parents and the community remain at the heart of the district’s agenda.”
