Suburban Cook County Expands Early Voting to 56 Locations Ahead of Election (Cook County, IL) — Suburban Cook County residents now have 56 different locations to cast their early ballots ahead of the November 3 Gubernatorial General Election.
Announced Tuesday by Cook County Clerk Monica Gordon, the expansion is designed to give suburban voters greater flexibility in choosing where and when to vote. Under the system, residents are not restricted to their local precinct during the early voting period; they may cast a ballot at any of the 56 early voting sites across suburban Cook County, regardless of their specific home address.
“We know that life gets busy and that people are balancing work, family, and many other responsibilities,” Gordon said in the document, “Release_Clerk’s Office Expands Early Voting to 56 Locations in Suburban Cook County .pdf”. “That is why we offer many voting options that provide flexibility for suburban residents who can choose to vote close to home, near their place of employment, or along their daily commute.”
For those utilizing vote-by-mail, the Clerk’s Office has installed secure Smart Ballot Drop Boxes at every early voting location. These boxes provide a designated return method for mail-in ballots while allowing voters to track their ballot and confirm its receipt status.
To prepare for the polls, voters can access the “Your Voter Information” tool at cookcountyclerk.com/VoterInfo. The portal allows residents to check their voter registration status, locate their official Election Day polling place, and generate a personalized sample ballot detailing the specific candidates and referenda they will be voting on. Voters are permitted to print this sample ballot and bring it with them into the voting booth.
A full directory of early voting locations and their operating hours is available at cookcountyclerk.com/EV. Early voting in suburban Cook County will remain open through Monday, November 2.
