Village of Hazel Crest Hosts Star-Studded Annual Hazelnut Festival & Parade This Saturday (Hazel Crest, IL) – The Village of Hazel Crest is set to light up the Southland this Saturday with its highly anticipated Annual HazelNut Festival & Parade, bringing together celebrities, live music, family fun, and community spirit for an unforgettable day of celebration.

This year’s event holds special significance as it marks the first major community celebration under newly elected Mayor Sandra Alexander, the first woman to serve as mayor in the village’s history.

Mayor Alexander will proudly lead the parade as Grand Marshal, joined by TV star LaRoyce Hawkins (NBC’s Chicago P.D.), CBS News Reporter Jermont Terry, and Advocate Hospital President Michelle Y. Blakely.

Adding star power to the festival’s main stage, R&B superstars Tony Terry and Glenn Jones will headline the evening’s performances, alongside an incredible lineup featuring Bobbi Lane, Jamie Rogers, Noreen Stark, the Humboldt Park Orchestra, and many more. The celebration will be hosted by Stephon Raickett, promising a lively and engaging experience for all attendees. 

The HazelNut Festival & Parade will also include: 

A family-friendly carnival with rides and attractions 

A petting zoo and game trucks for kids of all ages 

Vendors, food trucks, and local businesses showcasing their goods 

On-site sports and school physicals, making the day both fun and beneficial for families

Parade Kickoff: 

11:00 AM at Full Gospel Church, 3451 175th Street, traveling to the Hazel Crest Police Department, 3000 W 170th Place, Hazel Crest, IL 

“This year’s HazelNut Festival is not just an event it’s a celebration of our community, our resilience, and our future,”said Mayor Sandra Alexander. “We’re honored to welcome incredible talent, beloved community leaders, and families from near and far to experience what makes Hazel Crest truly special.”

The HazelNut Festival & Parade is free and open to the public. Attendees are encouraged to arrive early to secure viewing spots along the parade route and enjoy a full day of entertainment, activities, and community connection.
