Water Main Break on 139th Street Repaired in Dixmoor (Dixmoor, IL) – Repairs have been completed on a major water main break that disrupted service to much of Dixmoor, village officials said Monday.

Village President Fitzgerald Roberts said the break, located on 139th Street between Dixie Highway and Thornton Road, was repaired at approximately 2:30 a.m. The damaged 8-inch water main supplies a large portion of the village’s water system.

Officials said water quality testing is currently underway, and a decision on whether to issue a boil water advisory will be made once test results are available.

Village officials said additional information will be shared with residents as testing continues.
