Will County Bar Foundation Launches to Support Legal Access and Community Initiatives (Joliet, IL) – August 2, 2025 – The Will County Bar Association proudly announces the formation of the Will County Bar Foundation, a newly established 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to promoting access to justice, advancing legal education, and supporting charitable initiatives that benefit the Will County legal community.

The Foundation was created as a philanthropic arm of the Will County Bar Association, with a mission to foster goodwill, improve public understanding of the legal system, and provide support to local programs that align with its values of service, education, and justice.

Board of Directors and Officers Announced

The Will County Bar Foundation is led by an inaugural Board of Directors composed of respected legal professionals and community leaders from Will County. The Foundation’s 2025 Officers include:

  • President – Kristine Honiotes

  • Secretary – Mikal Stole

  • Treasurer – Charlene Recio

These leaders bring a wealth of experience and dedication to ensuring that the Foundation serves as a lasting resource for the legal community. The Will County Board of Directors also includes Britt Florin, Patty Kalkanis, Hon. Michael Powers (Ret), Hon. Marzell Richardson (Ret), Chris Spesia, and Bryan Wellner.

Community Grant Program Now Open

As one of its first major initiatives, the Will County Bar Foundation is excited to launch its Community Grant Program, which provides funding to local nonprofit organizations, schools, and community groups that promote legal education, civic engagement, and access to justice in Will County.

The application window is now open, and eligible organizations are encouraged to apply. Grants will be awarded based on alignment with the Foundation’s mission, demonstrated community impact, and financial need.
