Daley College Pool to Reopen With Public Aquatics Classes Oct. 14 (Chicago, IL) – Richard J. Daley College will open its swimming pool to the public next month as part of a new series of aquatics classes offered through the school’s Continuing Education Department.

The pool, located inside the main building at 7500 S. Pulaski Road, will be available beginning Oct. 14 for lap swimming, water walking, exercise, and recreation. Classes are open to community members of all skill levels, but advance registration is required.

“Swimming is a low-impact sport that offers a full-body workout and is suitable for nearly everyone, regardless of age or fitness level,” said Peggy Korellis, interim president of Daley College. “It’s powerful enough to strengthen the body, calm the mind, and lift the spirit.”

The fall session will include adult lap swimming and Hydro-Fit aerobics for participants 18 and older. Beginning in spring 2026, the college will add adult beginner classes and youth instruction for ages 8 to 12.

Mondays and Wednesdays, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Tuesdays and Thursdays, 12:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Fridays, 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
