Commissioner Aguilar Hosting Free Mexican Document Assistance in Lyons This Week (Lyons, IL) – Cook County Commissioner Frank J. Aguilar is offering free assistance with Mexican documentation at his district office in Lyons from Thursday, Sept. 25, through Saturday, Sept. 27.

The service, available at Aguilar’s office at 7833 Ogden Avenue, is designed to help residents with paperwork needs such as amending or issuing birth certificates without traveling to Mexico, obtaining records for families unable to make the trip, and providing guidance for children seeking Mexican nationality.

“The Mexican community has contributed so much to the culture and economy of our county and nation,” Aguilar said in a statement. “We as elected officials owe it to this community to support them, to help them travel between Mexico and the United States, and to ensure that this process is legal and safe. I strongly encourage interested constituents to attend these workshops.”

All services are provided free of charge by trained personnel. Officials said the goal is to help families ensure their documents are accurate, accessible, and processed properly.
