On April 2, 2026, DuPage County Sheriff’s detectives assigned to the Digital Forensic Investigation Unit, along with an assistant state’s attorney, presented evidence before a grand jury. The panel returned an indictment charging Kirk Mikulski with 24 felony counts related to the possession and dissemination of child sexual abuse material.
Mikulski was initially arrested on February 19, 2026, at which time he faced six felony counts tied to similar allegations.
Authorities have not released additional details about the expanded charges but confirmed the case stems from the same investigation.
Officials emphasized that the charges are accusations, and Mikulski is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
