Harvest Worship Center Hosts Annual Easter “Eggstravaganza” in Chicago (Chicago, IL) – Hundreds of children and families gathered at Altgeld Park Hope Field as Harvest Worship Center Ministries, in partnership with Healing the Hood Chicago, hosted its annual “Easter Eggstravaganza,” a free community celebration filled with food, entertainment and family-friendly activities.
The event, a yearly tradition, aims to bring neighbors together during the Easter season while providing a safe and welcoming environment for families to connect. Attendees enjoyed a variety of attractions, including games, music, a bounce house, face painting, and a special appearance from the Easter Bunny. A Bible giveaway was also part of the festivities.
DoorDash, a returning sponsor of the event, contributed $5,000 to support meals and giveaways for participants, helping ensure the celebration remained accessible to the community.
“Today’s event is about commemorating the Easter season and creating a space where families can connect, have fun and celebrate with their neighbors,” said Pastor Cornelius Parks of Harvest Worship Center Ministries. “Each year, we look forward to welcoming families for a day of joy, fellowship and community, and we are grateful to partners like DoorDash who help make this possible.”
DoorDash representatives emphasized the company’s ongoing commitment to community partnerships across Chicago.
“DoorDash is proud to support efforts that bring communities together and create meaningful moments for families,” said Clark Kaericher, U.S. Head of Government Relations at DoorDash. “We’re especially grateful to partner with leaders like Pastor Parks, who are dedicated to serving their communities year after year.”
Beyond this event, DoorDash has collaborated with several local organizations, including CHAMPS Mentoring, Metropolitan Family Services, the National Latino Education Institute and the College Mentoring Experience, as part of its broader community engagement initiatives.
The Easter Eggstravaganza continues to serve as a highlight for families on Chicago’s South Side, blending celebration with community outreach and support.
