Du Quoin State Fair Announces Track Schedules (Du Quoin, IL) – From horse racing to truck pulls, the Du Quoin State Fair will offer an action-packed lineup at its mile and half-mile tracks when the fair opens later this month.

Harness racing, a long-standing tradition at the fair, will take over the mile track for three days on Aug. 25, 26 and 27, with races starting at 4 p.m.

“Harness racing is a crowd favorite at the Du Quoin State Fair,” said Illinois Department of Agriculture Director Jerry Costello II. “We invite everyone to join us for these exciting races. You’ll find yourself on the edge of your seat, even if you have never experienced a horse race before.”

The half-mile track will also see plenty of high-octane action. The Sizemore MX Race is set for Saturday, Aug. 23, and Sunday, Aug. 24, starting at noon. Spectator admission is $5, with pit passes available for $10. Children ages 4 and under get in free.

On Monday, Aug. 25, and Tuesday, Aug. 26, the ITPA Truck & Tractor Pulls will rumble into the arena at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for children ages 3 to 13, and free for kids 3 and under.

The popular Demolition Derby will close out the half-mile track events on Saturday, Aug. 30, at 6 p.m. Tickets are $10 for ages 13 and up, $5 for children 12 and under, and free for kids under 3.

“The Du Quoin State Fair schedule is packed with exciting and family-friendly entertainment options,” said Fair Manager Luke Davison. “Our team worked hard to bring low-cost and no-cost entertainment so families could enjoy time together and create memories at this end-of-summer event.”

The Du Quoin State Fair runs from Aug. 22 through Sept. 1. Fair admission is free. Parking is free on opening day, Aug. 22; for all other days, parking is $15 at Gate 1 and $10 at other gates. More information, including seasonal and handicap parking details, is available at dsf.illinois.gov.
