FAA to Host Air Traffic Controller Hiring Event at Olive-Harvey College (Chicago, IL) – The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) will host a hiring support event at Olive-Harvey College on Friday, April 17, giving members of the public an opportunity to apply for entry-level air traffic controller positions and receive in-person assistance.
The event will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Room T107 of the TDL building at Olive-Harvey College, located at 10001 S. Woodlawn Ave. FAA staff will be on-site to help applicants complete their submissions and answer questions about the hiring process and career path.
The hiring initiative is open to the public, though applicants must meet several eligibility requirements. Candidates must be U.S. citizens, under the age of 31 by the job announcement’s closing date, and willing to relocate based on FAA staffing needs. Additional qualifications include the ability to communicate clearly in English, at least one year of work experience or a combination of education and experience, and successful completion of a pre-employment assessment, medical exam, and security investigation.
Those selected for the role will attend the FAA Academy in Oklahoma City for approximately three months of paid training.
In addition to attending the event, prospective applicants can apply online beginning at midnight on April 17 through the FAA’s hiring portal. The application window will close after 8,000 submissions are received.
FAA representatives will also be available for media interviews during and ahead of the event.
