Illinois State Representative Nicole La Ha and Illinois State Representative Patrick Sheehan (Homer Glen, IL) – State Representatives Nicole La Ha and Patrick Sheehan united on the House Floor today to celebrate the remarkable life and legacy of Steve ‘Mongo’ McMichael, following his passing. McMichael, a Super Bowl champion, Chicago Bears icon, and courageous advocate in the fight against ALS, leaves behind a legacy that will forever inspire the Homer Glen community and beyond.

“Steve embodied the spirit of resilience, strength, and leadership both on and off the football field,” Rep. La Ha said. “As a cornerstone of the ‘Monsters of the Midway,’ he brought endless pride to our community and represented the very best of Homer Glen. His remarkable career and courageous fight against ALS have left an indelible mark on all who admired him.”

“Steve ‘Mongo’ McMichael was a true legend, not only for his incredible contributions to football but for his unwavering determination and courage in the face of adversity,” Rep. Sheehan said. “As members of the Homer Glen community, we are proud to honor his memory and recognize the profound impact he has had on countless lives.”
