Rep. Sheehan Hosts Free Shred Event and Food Drive in Mokena This Saturday (Mokena, IL) – State Representative Patrick Sheehan is inviting residents to take part in a Free Shred Event and Food Drive this Saturday, October 25, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Mokena Front Street Metra Lot.
The community event, hosted in partnership with Will County Board Member Jim Richmond and Mokena Mayor George Metanias, offers residents a secure way to dispose of personal documents while also giving back to local families in need.
In addition to shredding services, attendees are encouraged to bring non-perishable food donations, which will benefit the Frankfort Township Food Pantry. The Mokena Lions Club will collect used eyeglasses for recycling, and the Mokena VFW Post 725 will gather worn American flags for proper retirement.
“We’re proud to offer this free service to help folks safely dispose of sensitive documents, and even more proud to support local families through the food drive,” Sheehan said. “It’s a small way we can come together and make a meaningful impact right here in Mokena.”
The event is open to all area residents. For more information, community members can contact Rep. Sheehan’s office
