Stratton Campaign Releases Second TV Ad as Polling Shows Tightening Race (Chicago, IL) – Lt. Gov. Juliana Stratton’s campaign has launched a second television ad, titled “We Can,” as new polling indicates she has narrowed the gap with rival Raja Krishnamoorthi in the closing weeks before Election Day.

The ad, released by Juliana for Illinois, portrays Stratton as a candidate prepared to challenge President Donald Trump and reject what the campaign calls the political status quo in Washington. Campaign officials say the spot is part of a broader push to build momentum with fewer than three weeks remaining in the race.

In the 30-second ad, Stratton delivers a pointed message, opening with a critique of Trump’s leadership.

“Hate is a dictator’s currency. Silence, his best friend. Fear, his strongest weapon,” Stratton says.

She then frames the election as a choice about how to confront Trump and his policies.

“I’m Juliana Stratton, and this is what I’ll do with Trump’s playbook,” she says, adding, “Because I know you don’t stop a dictator by negotiating.”

Stratton goes on to outline positions that include abolishing U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), ending what she describes as “violent raids,” prosecuting Trump for alleged crimes, and taking steps to protect Illinois residents.

“The South Side taught me to stand firm and fight,” Stratton says, concluding the ad with: “I approve this message, because Washington won’t stop him, but we can.”

Campaign officials say the new advertisement reflects growing voter enthusiasm and improving poll numbers, though specific polling details were not immediately released.

The ad also signals an increasingly sharp tone in the contest, as candidates seek to distinguish themselves on issues including immigration enforcement, Trump’s political influence and the direction of federal policy.

Krishnamoorthi’s campaign has not publicly responded to the ad. As early voting approaches, the race is expected to intensify, with Stratton’s campaign betting that its message of confrontation and reform will resonate with Democratic primary voters.
