Cook County Clerk, White Sox Partner to Offer Free Game Tickets for Veterans (Chicago, IL) – Cook County Clerk Monica Gordon is partnering once again with the Chicago White Sox to provide complimentary game tickets to veterans and active-duty military members during the 2026 season.
Through the Clerk’s Veterans Discount Card program, eligible participants can receive one free ticket to select weekday White Sox home games at Rate Field. The initiative is open to Cook County veterans, active-duty service members, National Guard members and reservists.
“This partnership is about more than a day at the ballpark — it’s about recognizing the service and sacrifice of the men and women who have given so much for our communities and our country,” Gordon said.
To qualify, individuals must be enrolled in the Veterans Discount Card program. Those not yet enrolled can apply online, by mail or in person at the Clerk’s Veterans Affairs Office in downtown Chicago. Applicants must provide documentation such as a DD-214, a retired military ID or a state ID with a veterans designation.
In addition to free tickets, the Veterans Discount Card offers discounts at a variety of businesses across Cook County, including restaurants, retail stores and fitness centers.
The complimentary ticket offer applies to select weekday home games throughout the 2026 season, spanning April through September. Tickets must be picked up on the day of the game at the Rate Field Box Office, Gate 4, within two hours of first pitch. A valid Veterans Discount Card is required for redemption.
County officials say the program is part of an ongoing effort to provide meaningful recognition and benefits to those who have served in the military.
More information about the program and how to apply is available through the Cook County Clerk’s Office.
