Rainbow PUSH Coalition Mourns the Passing of Mother Khadijah Farrakhan (Chicago, IL) – The Rainbow PUSH Coalition has issued a statement mourning the passing of Mother Khadijah Farrakhan, the beloved wife of Nation of Islam leader the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan, extending condolences to the Farrakhan family and the Nation of Islam.
In its statement, the organization expressed its “sincere and deepest condolences” to Minister Farrakhan, his children and family, describing Mother Khadijah Farrakhan as a devoted wife of 72 years, a mother, a leader and an example of motherhood.
The coalition said it shares in the family’s loss and reflected on Mother Khadijah Farrakhan’s longstanding contributions to faith, family and public service.
Rainbow PUSH also recognized her enduring relationship with the organization and its founder, the Rev. Jesse L. Jackson Sr.
“The unwavering support Mother Khadijah provided to the Reverend Jesse Jackson, Sr., the Jackson Family, and our organization is immeasurable,” the statement said.
The organization praised her lifelong commitment to her faith and community, saying she “devoted her life to her faith, family, and service, and led with grace, peace, and strength.”
The statement concluded by honoring her life and legacy, saying, “Today, Heaven is celebrating the arrival and ascension of Mother Khadijah Farrakhan.”
Founded by the late Rev. Jesse L. Jackson Sr., the Rainbow PUSH Coalition is a multiracial, international civil rights organization focused on advancing social justice, civil rights, education and economic opportunity. The organization is currently led by CEO Yusef D. Jackson.
